Proportional Representation

We would like to invite you to the Make Votes Matter and Unlock Democracy 'Fair Votes Festival' for Proportional Representation in Birmingham on Saturday 21st July, 2018 from 14:00 to 16:00 in Victoria Square.

We will have speakers, banners and placards, music, dancing and a stall.

We are very pleased to announce that James Carver Member of the European Parliament for the West Midlands, has confirmed to be one of the Speakers at the event.

The event will celebrate the centenary of the Representation of the People Act 1918, as well as the 90 year anniversary of the Equal Suffrage Act 1928, which further extended the franchise to include all men and women over 21. The event will highlight the fact that, under the current First Past The Post voting system, we still do not have votes that count equally. The main objective of the event is to raise awareness of the PR cause and to encourage people to join the movement for electoral reform, so that seats in the House of Commons reflect how the country votes.

We hope to see you there. Please register your attendance / interest on our Facebook Event page here >
